The News Minute | December 2, 2014 | 3.30 pm IST Thieves in Sabarimala it seems are concerned over difficulties that people have to face to get a duplicate for important documents. These days two of the big post boxes in the temple town of Sabarimala where people normally drop their letters have been filled with voter ID cards, aadhar cards, driving licences and many other important documents. Apparently, thieves who steal wallets from the pilgrims keeps the cash and drop these documents in the post boxes. “Every year during Sabarimala season we used to find lots of documents, mainly ID cards from the post boxes. But this season it is more in number compared to last year” says an official from Sabarimala post office. Police claim there are many robbery groups operating in Sabarimala, some are even from nearby areas and outside the areas. Theft in the pilgrim center is reportedly on the rise and a robbery group disguised as Ayyappa (god of Sabarimala) pilgrims was arrested recently by the police.
