The latest character reveal from the Tamil film Maari 2 is finally here and it is none other than Malayalam actor Tovino Thomas. The Maari 2 team has been revealing the ‘first look’ of its star cast over the past week.
Tovino Thomas, who is touted to play the villain in the flick, is seen sporting dreadlocks and a black bandanna in the poster, even as he is seemingly engulfed by fire. Clad in black tanks and a purple shirt, Tovino, who plays the character of Beeja aka Thanatos, is seen lighting up a beedi with his tattooed arm.
Tweeting a picture of Tovino's first look on Friday, Dhanush, who plays the lead, called Beeja his ‘nemesis’.
Introducing the character, Balaji Mohan, the director of the film, tweeted, "Lives and breathes killing. With brain and bullet!"
Tovino, who is largely seen in Malayalam films, has bagged some interesting projects in Tamil in recent times.
On Wednesday, the first look of Sai Pallavi went viral after its release. Sai Pallavi plays Araathu Aanandhi in the film, described by the director as "a fun character that's also right at the heart of the story of Maari 2".
Maari 2 is the sequel to the 2015 Dhanush film Maari. The sequel is produced by Dhanush's Wunderbar Films. Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, who was recently seen in the Vijay starrer Sarkar, is also part of Maari 2. The film has music by Yuvan Shankar Raja and is expected to release in December this year.
