Balakrishna to ring in 56th birthday in US

Actor Nandamuri Balakrishna has been busy shooting for his 100th film, Gauthamiputra Satakarni, non-stop over the last month. He’s taking a much needed break from the hectic schedule to ring in his 56th birthday and he plans to celebrate it in the US for a noble cause.

He plans to attend some charity events to raise funds for Basavatharakam Cancer Institute. He will spend a week in the US, before returning to the sets of his highly anticipated film.

Being directed by National-award winning filmmaker Krish, the film also stars Hema Malini and Kabir Bedi in important roles.

The makers are yet to finalize the leading lady and they’re most likely to lock someone by the end of this month, because the heroine’s portion will have to be shot from the third schedule of the film. Having already shot in Georgia, where the team filmed one of the crucial action sequences in the film, the makers have been shooting in a specially erected set in Hyderabad since the end of last month.

Tipped to be made on a lavish budget, the film will narrate the story of an unsung ruler from Satavahana dynasty. The film will have music by Devi Sri Prasad.
