Asus ZenFone 4 and some of its variants are expected to be released in an official event slated for August 19. Many details which were hitherto in the realm of speculation have now emerged about the phone’s specifications and can be shared here.

To begin with the processor on the Asus ZenFone 4 Pro, the higher variant will be the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 Soc. And with 6GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage, this phone would definitely want to be counted amongst the premium segment phones.

The $650 price tag for this smartphone from Asus will itself indicate how much the company places a premium on this phone. The other details available in this phone indicate it will have a 5.7-inch AMOLED display and the QUAD HD type display will offer a screen resolution of 2560x1440.

There is expected to be a dual camera arrangement in the rear of the Asus ZenFone 4 Pro and a 2x optical zoom feature.

The other variant, the Asus ZenFone 4 will come with 4GB RAM and 64GB ROM will be sold at $400. The prices in Indian currency would read Rs 41,500 and Rs 25,500 respectively.

For the record, the CPU on the Asus ZenFone 4 will be the Snapdragon 630 processor, which is being considered the first time this chipset is being featured in a smartphone. In fact, the reports indicate that there may be another phone in the same Asus ZenFone 4 model with the Snapdragon 660 SoC.

Besides these, there is a third, ZenFone 4 Selfie that may also be officially announced in the August 19 event. This phone dedicated to the selfie lovers is expected to retail at around $350.

All these do not complete the information about the phones awaiting the official release since not much is coming forth directly from the company.

For Asus, this might be a defining moment, since the company has faced stiff competition from the other Chinese brands like Oppo, OnePlus and Vivo. Asus might feel this is the opportunity to regain its market share. How it pans out, as the smartphones hit the markets will be known in the coming weeks.

The plans for the launch of the Asus ZenFone 4 and the different variants in the Indian market will also be keenly awaited.
