Prime Minister Narendra Modi who celebrated his 66th birthday during a two-day trip to Gujarat, received wishes from all over the country on Saturday through a special app. Many prominent figures used a special feature on the NaMo app to leave personalized testimonies of their experience with the prime minister, in return for a personal response.

Several prominent personalities posted their wishes on the app, including Amitabh Bacchchan, Lata Mangeshkar, Aamir Khan, Cyrus Mistry and Anil Ambani.

Even Times Now editor-in-chief Arnab Goswami and Thiruvananthapuram MP Shashi Tharoor extended their greeting.

Goswami wrote that he has been interacting with Modi for 16 years, and two things which "struck me greatly were his accessibility and his simple lifestyle."

He wrote:

At a personal level, I must share that each time I have had the privilege to interview the Prime Minister, his humility and warmth while interacting with my TV crew has been heart-warming. He makes it a point to interact and thank each cameraperson, researcher, technician and producer. He obliges requests for pictures, and leaves a deep impression on the crew every time by thanking them for their effort.

"On the occasion of his birthday, I would like to wish Prime Minister Narendra Modi health, happiness and many many more years in the service of our nation." he said.

Meanwhile, Shashi Tharoor wrote:

It is the capacity to reach out across the political divide to opponents that struck me as the most unusual personal characteristic of our Prime Minister. I had, after all, used the occasion of his birthday to remind him again of our political differences; yet he had not only taken that in his stride, but turned it around into a positive message of conciliation and collegiality.

Even spiritual guru Sri Sri Ravi Shankar extended his greetings to the Prime Minister and wrote "An able statesman, Prime Minister Modi has added a new luster to India’s bilateral relationships with other sovereign nations. He has the zeal of a missionary. As an experienced administrator, he has played a constructive role in international affairs and raised India’s standing. He has the uncanny ability to understand the mindset of the poor as well as corporate leaders."

Mukesh Ambani wrote:

You motivate India’s aspirational youth with your boundless energy and tireless work. Your vision of India’s technology-driven transformation has created unprecedented hope in all Indians and tremendous respect for India abroad. Your life is an inspiration to many generations of Indians.
