Director AR Murugadoss and Thalapathy Vijay are busy with their respective projects – SPYder and Mersal respectively. But that doesn’t stop the fans from expecting more information about their upcoming film together. Not titled yet, the film is being referred to as Vijay 62 for now. It is clear that Vijay 62 would go on to the floors only when both Vijay as well as AR Murugadoss are done with their respective assignments but the groundwork has begun already.
The director is assembling his cast and crew, say sources. It is heard from sources in the tinsel town that the director has discussed the project with Rakul Preet Singh already and will be casting her as the lead pair to Vijay. Interestingly, Rakul Preet is the heroine in SPYder which is directed by AR Murugadoss. Sharing a good rapport with the director, Rakul seems to be his first choice. The actor made her debut in Kollywood with Thadaiyara Thaakka in 2012 but couldn’t carve a niche for herself. She is currently playing the lead role in the Tamil film Theeran Adhikaaran Ondru which is directed by H Vinod.
On the other hand, SPYder, a bilingual that will be released in Telugu as well as Tamil, is Mahesh Babu’s first direct Tamil movie; therefore, technically his debut in Kollywood.
Having worked together in Kaththi and Thuppaki, Vijay and AR Murugadoss are now looking forward to score a hat trick at the box office with their new venture together.
While it has already been announced that SPYder will be hitting the silver screens on September 27 as a Dusshera release, Vijay’s Mersal is expected to be out at the theatres as a Diwali treat. However, this has not been confirmed yet.
