Apple has confirmed that the special event to launch this year’s iPhones will be held on September 10. There has been a spate of rumours, leaks and renders of the expected devices. While some can be confirmed with a certain sense of assurance, others may not be as reliable. That there will be three devices can be confirmed. These are likely to be named the iPhone 11, 11Max and 11 R, sticking to the last year’s pattern.

One Chinese site has come up with the suggestion that these names will be the iPhone 11 Pro, iPhone 11 Pro Max and iPhone 11. However, this hasn’t been confirmed yet.

The introduction of a square bump in the rear to house the cameras is also a given. The top-end iPhone 11 and 11 Max are likely to have triple camera setups in the rear, with three identical 12MP lenses doing different functions. The front selfie camera is likely to be 12MP across all three models. The two will also sport OLED panels while the third, the iPhone 11R will continue to be fitted with an LCD panel.

On the display sizes, the speculation is that it will be 6.5-inch and 5.8-inch for the two top-end models and 6.1 inches for the lower end iPhone 11R. The Chinese site now claims that the Apple Pencil may also be added to the top two models; again, this is unconfirmed as of now.

The A13 chipset will be the latest processor powering all three models. The battery will be 3190mAh for the higher end and 3110mAh for the lower end phones, it is rumoured.

The Chinese site has ventured to guestimate the prices of the iPhone 2019 models also. It claims it will be $1099, $999 and $749 for the iPhone 11 Max (iPhone 11 Pro Max?), iPhone 11 (iPhone 11 Pro) and iPhone 11 R (iPhone 11?) respectively. You have to wait around a week to know which is which.
