The News Minute | December 30, 2014 | 8:30 am ISTThe Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE) on Monday announced the dates for the common Engineering Agricultural and Medical Common Entrance Test (EAMCET) to be held for both AP and Telangana on May 10, 2015 citing the AP Reorganization act According to the AP Reorganization Act, the APSCHE has the authority to conduct exams for both states for a period of 10 years. However, its Telangana counterpart (TSCHE) claimed that it would not participate and wished for its own exam dates, a report in the Times of India adds.Responding to the announcement by the APSCHE, TSCHE chairman, Papi Reddy claimed that AP officials had taken a “unilateral decision” without consulting him and also added that the Telangana students would not cooperate with those dates.Around two lakh students are expected to write the Eamcet from Telangana this year. The officials added that TSCHE would come up with a separate examination schedule for these students soon.Tweet
