On Sunday, Maoists and Kerala police’s Commando force called ‘Thunder Bolts’ exchanged fire in Wayanad district.Malayalam media has been reporting about intelligence reports that suggested that Maoists in the Kerala- Tamil Nadu region are getting armed. The Thunder Bolts were patrolling the jungles, when they came face-to-face with a group of Maoists.No one has been reported injured in the incident.Kerala Home Minsiter Ramesh Chennithala has assured the state that they will tackle the issue strongly. He added that all precautions have been taken to ensure that Maoists do not strengthen their force any further in the state.The Minister’s statement comes at a time when Maoists have owned up for an attack against a resort on Wayanad last week.
