The actor's last film release was 'Naa Peru Surya', which did not fare too well at the box office.

A new film, titled Icon, was announced to commemorate Allu Arjun’s 36th birthday on April 8. To be bankrolled by Dil Raju’s Sri Venkateswara Creations, the film will be directed by Sriram Venu of Middle Class Abbayi fame. The makers tweeted announcing,"#ICON - కనబడుట లేదుHappy to announce our 4th collaboration with Southern Star @AlluArjun. Written and Directed by Sriram Venu #HBDAlluArjun."

Details about the rest of the star cast and crew are expected to be revealed soon.

Allu Arjun currently has two projects on hand besides Icon. While one is with Trivikram Srinivas, the other is with Sukumar. The star is now concentrating on the Trivikram Srinivas directorial. The film’s shooting is in progress and Pooja Hegde has been signed up to play Allu Arjun’s lead pair in it. It may be noted here that Allu Arjun and Trivikram Srinivas share a good rapport after having worked together in Julai in 2012 and S/O Satyamurthy in 2015.

While Allu Arjun is busy with these three films, there was a buzz in the industry that the star is reportedly in talks with director AR Murugadoss for a film which is to be made on a very high budget and it will be a trilingual. But sources in the know say that the project is unlikely to happen, at least in the near future. The star has been in talks with a couple of filmmakers and has already given nods for a few movies which will keep him busy for the next two years. With a strong line-up of films on hands, Allu Arjun is gearing up for a gruelling schedule ahead.

It may be noted here that Allu Arjun’s last film release was Naa Peru Surya, which did not fare too well at the box office last year. The star took a break soon after its release and waited for several months before deciding on his next project. Naa Peru Surya was an action drama written and directed by Vakkantham Vamsi who made his directorial debut with this flick.
