Tollywood star Allu Arjun is desperately in need of a big hit with his recent films turning out to be box office duds. In fact, ever since his latest release Naa Peru Surya Naa Illu India was declared a flop, there have been various speculations about his next. However, the star has not committed to any project till date.

Now, the buzz is that he is all set to make his debut in Bollywood with a sports film. Sources in the know say that Allu Arjun has been approached to play cricketer K Srikanth in an upcoming film which will be based on the Indian cricket team’s world cup victory in 1983.

The film will be directed by Kabir Khan and Ranveer Singh has been signed up to play the Indian cricket team captain, Kapil Dev, who steered the team to victory. The director is reportedly roping in other stars to play the rest of the team members. More details about this project are expected to be made officially soon.

There were reports of Allu Arjun teaming up with director Vikram Kumar but there is no official word about it yet. Sources in the know say that the actor is not convinced with the script and is yet to give his nod.

Allu Arjun’s last big hit was Sarrainodu which hit the marquee in 2016. The star and his fans have been looking forward for a massive hit and the new film could just be it. Sources in the know say that the team has planned it as an entertainer and more details about it including the rest of the cast and crew will be disclosed soon.
