Akhil Akkineni’s stage performance at the South Indian International Movie Awards (SIIMA) in Dubai is one of the most trending topics that is being discussed by film buffs.
The young actor took on the mike to croon a number from his untitled film and it turned out to be an instant hit among the audience.
Allu Sirish, son of ace producer Allu Aravind and brother of actor Allu Arjun also heaped praises on Akhil.
Allu Sirish, who had starred in a couple of movies, said that Akhil Akkineni was the Justin Bieber of India.
Posting a picture of himself and Akhil on Instagram, Allu Sirish captioned it, “You should watch the SIIMA Awards when it's out on TV to know why I call him Akhil Bieber. He sang a song from his new film on stage & killed it!”
Since then, the video of Akhil’s stage performance is going viral online.
Son of Nagarjuna and Amala Akkineni, Akhil made his acting debut as a baby in Sisindri in 1995. He was then seen making a cameo appearance in Manam which had his grand father, Nageswara Rao, father Nagarjuna, and step brother Naga Chaitanya in important roles.
Akhil’s debut as hero was with Akhil in 2015 but the film bombed at the box office.
He is currently busy with a Vikram Kumar directorial which has not been titled yet. With Akhil singing a number from this album, it is clear that he is a talented singer as well.
The movie went on the floors in April this year and is progressing at a brisk pace. The yet to be titled film is being bankrolled by Akhil’s dad and actor – producer Nagarjuna under his banner Annapurna Studios.
