The makers of Ajith’s Vivegam are currently busy with the film’s post-production and it’s confirmed that the film will hit the screens worldwide on August 10.

Director Siva, who has teamed up for the third time with Ajith after Veeram and Vedalam, has revealed in his latest interview to Times of India that Ajith performed all the action scenes in the film on his own and without a body double. Vivegam is a high-budget spy thriller which marks the debut of Bollywood actor Vivek Oberoi in Kollywood in the role of an antagonist.

Talking about the action sequences in the film, Siva said, “There are three major action scenes in the film. Ajith sir doesn’t use any body doubles and he has done all the stunts by himself. The bike stunts have come out amazing well and even the foreign choreographer Kaloyan Vodenicharov was surprised at his ability to pull off the stunt sequences. Ajith sir used to be a bike racer but bike stunts are totally different from racing. We were shooting at sub-zero temperatures with dim lights for getting the night effects. Due to snowfall, the road was slippery and hence dangerous. It was a breath-taking moment for the team including the stunt master. The bike stunt sequence would be one of the highlights of the movie.”

The film has been predominantly shot across exotic locations in Europe, especially in places such as Serbia, Austria, Georgia and Slovenia among others. Going by the promos, Ajith looks his stylish best in the film and has also set an example by sporting six-pack abs despite a long history of medical condition. Produced by Sathya Jyothi Films, Vivegam has music by Anirudh Ravichander and it is loosely based on Liam Neeson’s Taken, according to the industry grapevine. After the first track Surviva became a viral sensation, the second single from the album – Thala Viduthalai – was equally well received.
