Following the success of Thuppakki and Kaththi, Ilaiyathalapathy Vijay and filmmaker AR Murugadoss are slated to team up for third time, sources in the industry say. The internet with abuzz with speculation on Saturday that the duo had agreed to team up and the project is being bankrolled by Lyca Productions.
“Murugadoss has a script ready for Vijay. They have been in talks to reunite for a long time. A few weeks ago, Murugadoss met Vijay and narrated the final version of the script. Impressed with what he heard, he immediately gave his nod to the project. However, the official paper work is still pending and it might take a few more weeks. This will be Lyca Productions’ next big project after Rajinikanth’s 2.0. The rest of the cast and crew are yet to be finalised,” a source said.
There was also speculation that actor Simbu will be composing the music for this project. However, sources close to Murugadoss rubbished the reports as a baseless rumour and added that they’re yet to finalise the rest of the team. Shooting is expected to commence towards the end of the year.
Vijay is currently busy shooting for Atlee’s film, where he plays a triple role.
