The News Minute | December 1, 2014 | 2.20 pm ISTFollowing the Kiss of Love campaign, a protest against moral policing in the country, which stemmed in Kerala, another initiative seems to be following suit. A group of women have decided to gather in Kozhikode beach on Monday morning and speak out for women and their rights to 'enjoy the night' life. A Facebook group named “iruttu nunayamedikale” (enjoy the nights, girls) is organizing the event. The group says that they are agitating against stereotypical notions of the society, one of them being that girls shouldn't step outside the house after dark.'If a girl is brutally raped at night, some people ask, "Why did she go out at night?" To those who ask this, we should reply “I am the owner of myself”. Every finger is pointed towards women. Whether it is kiss protest or hug protest. Whatever happens we women are the culprits', the group has posted on its Facebook page."Why should we waste a spring by keeping quiet? We should unite and protest. Please gather at Kozhikode beach on December 1, 2014 at 10 pm. Let us discuss without any time limits", further reads the post." Women should have the freedom to walk even at the middle of the night. Since Kerala society is nowadays so much discussing on the moral perspectives, we thought that it is the right time to protest for our rights," Nisa one of the organisers of the event told The News Minute
