The News Minute | August 22, 2014 | 08:28 am ISTThe ice bucket challenge, a charity stunt in which people accept challenges to pour a bucket of ice water and promote awareness of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) has gone viral. From the United States of America, it has spread to other countries, even India.Since July 29, the ALS Association has raised $31.5 million, as compared to $1.9 million during the same time period last year (July 29 to August 20).It now seems the success of the ALS challenge has inspired other stunts to promote awareness about diseases.Jamie Eason, fitness model and writer has started a push up challenge, that intends to raise funds for pediatric cancer.Post by Fitness Model/Writer Jamie Eason.Just like the ice bucket challenge, the push up challenge too is being passed on from person to two others. One dollar is donated for every push up done by the person. It may not be easy to duplicate the ALS ice bucket challenge’s success, but it looks like a trend is emerging.
