A bank manager from Noida was left astonished when a thief, who reportedly broke in to his bank on Sunday night, left him a note. According to a The Times of India report, the robbery attempt was unsuccessful as the thief failed to locate the strongroom and the vault.

However, the failed attempt at robbing the bank did not stop the thief from leaving an emotional letter addressed to the bank manager explaining his motive behind robbing the bank. The letter said that he was forced to rob the bank as he was unable to feed his family since he was sacked from his job in a private company, states the report.

The report quoted the letter, "I lost my job in a private company. I have a family and children. It is very difficult to maintain family due to price rise and inflation. This was my first attempt to rob the bank and I failed."

Police said the thief broke in to the Sector 6 branch of Canara Bank, situated in front of the Noida Authority office, armed with sophisticated tools and instruments, in the report. The report also says that the robber tried a thorough search of the bank but failed to locate the vault.

The thief left behind two bags filled with tools and iron rod cutters in the bank. The banks CCTV were not functional as the bank is going through some renovations, said the report. A case has been registered but no arrests have been made yet, adds the report.
