Director Vikram Kumar made his directorial debut with the English film Silent Scream, which went on to win the National Film Award for Best Educational/Motivational/Instructional Film in the year 1998.

He then worked in commercial films which brought him fame. His film Manam, which featured the three generations of the Akkineni family, A Nageswara Rao, Nagarjuna, Naga Chaitanya and Akhil Akkineni (cameo) was one of the blockbuster hits and had earned him the Filmfare Award for Best Director – Telugu.

This was enough for Nagarjuna to rope in the director to direct his son Akhil Akkineni after his debut film turned out to be a flop.

With the Vikram Kumar directorial Hello, starring Akhil Akkineni in the lead role is gearing up for release this Christmas, there is a buzz doing rounds that Nagarjuna is in talks with the director again.

This time, he wants the versatile director to wield the megaphone for a film that will have his older son Naga Chaitanya. The project is in the pipeline but will happen only after Vikram Kumar is done with the current assignments on hand.

The director will be helming a film that will have Jr NTR in the lead role. This film is expected to go into the production mode after the star is done with the Trivikram Srinivas directorial and SS Rajamouli’s film in which he will share the screen space with Ram Charan Teja.

Apart from these films, Vikram Kumar will also be directing Nithin in a movie that will be bankrolled by Dil Raju.

Meanwhile, Naga Chaitanya will be wrapping up his two upcoming films Savyasachi and Sailaja Reddy Alludu, which are being directed by Chandoo Mondenti and Maruti Dasari respectively.

The actor has two film releases - Rarandoi Veduka Chudham and Yuddham Sharanam – this year.
