The trailer of the upcoming film starring Dr Rajasekar in the lead, titled Kalki, was released in theatres along with the Mahesh Babu starrer Maharshi and has garnered the attention of film buffs in a big way. The one and a half minute trailer is impressive but doesn't reveal much about the film keeping the suspense factor intact.
While Dr Rajasekar plays the lead role and will be seen as a cop, the star cast includes Adah Sharma and Nanditha Shwetha as the female leads. Poojitha Ponnada, Scarlett Mellish Wilson, Rahul Ramakrishna, Nassar, Ashtosh Rana, Siddu Jonnalagadda, Shatru, Charandeep, Venugopal, Vennela Ramarao, D.S. Rao, Amith Sharma and Sathish will be seen in supporting roles.
On the film, director Prashanth Varma had said, “When you are in Rome..Kalki ‘Commercial’ Trailer!! Hope u all like it..” (sic) while the lead actor wrote, “Big Thankss from Team Kalki and me for launching our Commercial Trailer Nani Garu. We love you! @NameisNani.”

The shooting of the film began on September 19 last year and is under progress. Sets for this film were erected at the Patancheru area in Hyderabad, where the first schedule began. The cost of this set alone was estimated to be around Rs 2 crore. Sources in the film circles say that Kalki will be the costliest film ever for Rajasekar till date.
Director Prashanth Varma had directed Dr Rajasekar in PSV Garuda, which turned out to be a big hit. His last directorial was Awe, which was a heroine centric film that was released last year. Kajal Aggarwal, Nithya Menon and Regina Cassandra played the lead roles in this film.
