After wrapping up A.R.Murugadoss directorial Darbar, Super Star Rajinikanth is currently concentrating on his next Thalaivar 168.
The film will be bankrolled by Sun Pictures. On Monday, the makers officially announced that actors Keerthy Suresh and Prakash Raj are on board for a pivotel role. Curiosity levels were up among the film buffs on who would be pairing up with Rajinikanth in this film and it was reported that it may be either Kushbhu or Meena
Now, the makers have officially revealed that Meena, who had acted as a child artist in Anbulla Rajinikanth and previously acted alongside Rajinikanth in Muthu and Veera has signed up to play a lead role.
The film is expected to start rolling from the second or third week of December. It is wide speculated that the film will be set in the backdrop of a village with trademark Rajinikanth's elements and Soori has been roped in to play a role in the film. D Imman is already on board to compose the tunes for this entertainer.
Meanwhile, the Superstar is expecting the release of Darbar, which is gearing up for release for Pongal next year. It is an action thriller film written and directed by AR Murugadoss and produced by Allirajah Subaskaran under the banner of Lyca Productions. The film has Rajinikanth and Nayanthara as the lead pair with the Bollywood star and Sunil Shetty in an important role. The others in the supporting roles are Nivetha Thomas, Yogi Babu, Thambi Ramaiya and Sriman.
Anirudh Ravichander is the music composer of this flick with cinematography and editing by Santhosh Sivan and Sreekar Prasad, respectively. The film is scheduled to hit the marquee on January 10th, 2020. The film was originally supposed to be bankrolled by Sun Pictures, who backed out after the recent Sarkar controversy. Lyca Productions, the makers of 2.0, took over the reins of the project and are going all out to make this a lavish project. This would be the third outing for Lyca Productions with Rajinikanth after Kaala and 2.0.
