Malayalam actor Dileep’s driver Appunni has applied for anticipatory bail in the Kerala High court on Wednesday fearing being implicated as an accused in the actor abduction case.

In the bail application, he has claimed that he does not know Pulsar Suni, the prime accused in the case.

However, the remand report that TNM had accessed says that after Pulsar Suni's arrest he continued to call Appunni.

“The petitioner apprehends that he will be implicated as an accused….” reads a portion of the petition.

He also alleged that the police were trying to make him and Dileep's friend and director Nadirsha as pardoned witnesses.

“During the past few days, there have been false and fanciful reports in the media. About the alleged role of the petitioner in the case and repeated assertions by the media that the petitioner will be arrayed as an accused and he is going to be arrested. Petitioner has no connection or association with Pulsar Suni or any of the accused persons in the case. However, media reports have falsely alleged that petitioner has associated with Pulsar Suni," the petition says.

On Dileep’s alleged role in the case, Appunni in his petition says, “Petitioner believes that police have no material or evidence to connect Dileep with the crime and they are trying to create evidence.”

Appunni said that the investigation team had previously questioned him when he accompanied Dileep as the driver of his vehicle. He added in the bail application that he might be tortured by the police if he gets arrested now.
