The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) on Friday seized 3.26 kg of gold worth Rs 97 lakh at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport in Hyderabad.

Based on specific intelligence, officers of DRI Hyderabad Zonal unit intercepted a passenger and a ground handling staff at the airport and recovered 28 gold bars weighing 3.26 kg from them, a DRI release said.

The passenger had arrived from Dubai and was handing the gold over to the ground handling staff for taking it out of the airport, it said, adding further investigations are on.
