A 27-year-old lab technician was arrested by the Rachakonda police on Tuesday for posting morphed pictures of his wife on social media. The couple were staying in LB Nagar and were former colleagues at a multi-specialty hospital at Turkayamjal. The accused Ravinder was nabbed at his house and booked for stalking and other charges under relevant sections of the IT Act.

Ravinder, a native of Kalwakole in Rangareddy district, first met the woman at a multi-specialty hospital in Turkayamjal where she was working as a staff nurse. She then moved to another hospital and the accused followed her there as well. The duo soon started living together in LB Nagar and got married at a temple in 2015.

In January and February this year, the woman who was going through the social media accounts of her husband, found that he was still in touch with women from the previous workplace. Suspecting that he was having illicit affairs with them, the woman confronted Ravinder and the couple had an altercation. Ravinder got upset, quit his job and left for his native place.

Soon, the accused started a Facebook page in his wife’s name and began posting her morphed pictures in the account. He also wrote objectionable comments with the sole aim of defaming her. The victim, who came across the fake profile, lodged a complaint with the Rachakonda police.

On investigating, the police also found that the victim had earlier filed a complaint against Ravinder for cheating and dowry harassment with the Saroornagar women police station earlier this year.
