The trailer of Shankar's magnum opus, 2.0, starring Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar, is likely to be released on November 3. The teaser of this film, that released a few weeks ago, has upped the expectation levels for the trailer.

According to sources, the trailer launch event will happen at Sathyam Cinemas in Chennai and what makes it even more special is the fact that it will be released in the 4D sound technology for the first time ever.

2.0 is easily one of the most anticipated films as it happens to be the sequel to the 2010 release Endhiran. Directed by Shankar, the film stars Rajinikanth and Amy Jackson as the lead pair with Bollywood star Akshay Kumar playing the baddie. Those in the supporting roles include Sudhanshu Pandey, Adil Hussain, Kalabhavan Shajohn, and Riyaz Khan.

Produced by Subaskaran Allirajah under his banner Lyca Productions, 2.0 is made on a massive budget of Rs 450 crores. The film’s technical crew comprises AR Rahman for songs with the background score by him AR Rahman and Qutub-E-Kripa. The film's DoP has been done by Nirav Shah and has Anthony for editing.

Director Shankar had completed the shooting of this film several months ago and the post-production has been happening for nearly a year now. With a huge amount of graphics work to be included in 2.0, its release was postponed on several occasions in the past. The film is getting ready to hit the marquee on November 29 and the team is working towards meeting this deadline.

It may be noted here that the Superstar recently completed the shooting of his yet another project Petta and this film has gone into the post production mode. Directed by Karthik Subburaj, the film also has Vijay Sethupathi in a pivotal role.

Petta marks Subbaraj’s first-time collaboration with Rajinikanth. On teaming up with the 67-year-old star, the film is being bankrolled by Sun Pictures on a lavish budget.
