Here’s the most awaited news all Vijay and AR Rahman fans have been waiting for! Right from the day it was announced officially that the Oscar winning music director AR Rahman would compose the tunes for Vijay’s Mersal, fans have been waiting eagerly for news about the audio launch. Well, the official announcement is here! The audio launch will happen on August 20. Lyrics for the songs have been penned by Vivek while the music rights have been bagged by Sony Music.
Written and directed by Atlee, the film is bankrolled by N. Ramasamy, Hema Rukmani, R. Mahendran and H. Murali under the banner Thenandal Studios Limited. Touted to hit the silver screens for Diwali this year, the film will be dubbed in Telugu and released under the title Adhirindi.
Atlee and Vijay had teamed up for Theri a couple of years ago and it went on to score a hit at the box office. With the duo getting together for Vijay’s 61st film, Mersal, expectations are way too high.
Interestingly, in the movie, Vijay will appear in three different roles - village head, Dr. Maran and a magician. The film does have an interesting star cast as it has three heroines – Kajal Agarwal, Samantha and Nithya Menen. SJ Suryah, Vadivelu and Sathyaraj will be seen playing pivotal roles in the film while the rest of the star cast also includes Sathyan, Misha Ghoshal, Kovai Sarala, Yogi Babu, Hareesh Peradi, Rajendran and Cheenu Mohan. Mersal has been shot extensively in Poland, Chennai, Jaisalmer, Rajasthan and Konaseema and it would be a visual treat for the movie buffs; thanks to GK Vishnu who had cranked the camera.
What makes Mersal very important in Vijay’s career is that he has shed the title Ilayathalapathy and graduated to Thalapathy!
