Two of the most awaited movies in Sandalwood – The Villain and Kurukshetra are in the making right now.

Both the teams are reportedly working on having their respective films released for Sankaranthi next year. If this turns out to be true, it would be a massive clash at the box office in Sandalwood. Kurukshetra and The Villain, both made on a very high budget, have an impressive line up of stars.

While in The Villain, Dr Shiva Rajkumar and Sudeep are sharing screen space, the film has Amy Jackson making her debut in the Kannada film industry. Other stars playing pivotal roles in the film would be Srikanth, Mithun Chakraborty and Sruthi Hariharan.

Directed by Jogi Prem, the film is being bankrolled by CR Manohar. With most of the film shot abroad in places such as Bangkok, Thailand and the United Kingdom, it would be a visual treat for the movie buffs, say sources.

Reports say that the Hindi rights have already been sold and its pre-release business is happening at a brisk pace.

On the other hand, Kurukshetra is a historical film that is based on the Mahabharata. Reports say that the film is told from Duryodhana’s perspective. Darshan plays Duryodhana in the movie and the star cast includes Ravichandran, Saikumar, Nikhil Kumar, Haripriya, Lakshmi, Sneha, Regina and Bollywood actor Danish Akhtar Saifi.

The shooting of this epic flick is happening at the Ramoji Film City in Hyderabad where elaborate sets have been erected for the purpose. As it is highly possible that both Kurukshetra and The Villain may release at the same time, movie buffs are excited. More so because the films would be out in the theatres during the festive season.
