Mega star Mammootty, who selects his projects carefully, has okayed his next film. Writer Sethu of the Sethu – Sachy duo will be making his debut as director with the Mammootty starrer titled Kozhi Thankachan. The writer had revealed in an interview that he is in talks with the star and now some details confirming the project have been revealed.
Mammootty was so impressed with the storyline that Sethu had for him that he agreed to do the role. Apart from the mega star, the film may also feature Unni Mukundan in an important role. Revealing a little information about Kozhi Thankachan, Sethu is reported to have said that Mammootty would be seen playing a middle-aged villager, a role that would be a cakewalk for him.
The director is on the look-out for three leading ladies to share the screen space with Mammootty but no one has been finalised yet. Some of the well known heroines in the Malayalam film industry like Vedhika, Miya George, Deepti Sati, Anu Sithara, and Nyla Usha are being considered for the film. Sources say that once the heroines are finalised and the deal is sealed, there would be a formal announcement in this regard.
Touted to be a comedy entertainer, the film will have oodles of humour that is sure to have the audiences in splits. Yet another important detail about Kozhi Thankachan is that actor Unni Mukundan will be assisting Sethu in the direction department. The youngster has a strong inclination to wield the megaphon and this is his stepping stone to realise his bigger dreams.
Mammootty has had two releases – The Great Father and Puthan Panam – so far this year and both films have done well at the box office.
