Days after the mysterious death of 20-year old Nandula Jaya Deepika, the daughter of  TDP Ramachandrapuram town president Nandula Raju, the police are reportedly suspecting that the woman may have been murdered by her own father.

Deepika was found lying in a pool of blood at her house on Tuesday, at around 1:30 am, when Raju and his son Jaya Prakash returned home from their restaurant which they own and manage.

The New Indian Express reported that she had wounds on her head, neck and hands, and was shifted to Area Hospital, where the doctors declared her brought dead.

Following this, the Ramachandrapuram Police registered a case and sent the body for post-morterm. The police also visited the TDP leader's house and collected other forensic evidence.

Quoting sources, the TNIE report added that young woman reportedly had an affair with Kunapareddy Manikanta, and her father and brother were opposed to the relationship.

The Hindu reported that the police suspect that Raju may have hired a history-sheeter to murder his daughter. However, it was not clear if the reason behind the alleged murder was a 'honour killing' or due to a property dispute among the family members, as the woman owned a large amount of land in her name.

The report adds that Raju filed a police complaint after post-mortem, alleging that he suspected his son, Jayaprakash Naidu, to be behind the murder as Jaya Deepika was owning property worth Rs 2 crore.

The police said that Raju was seen sitting at his restaurant in the CCTV footage, at the time that the murder took place.
