Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) are one step away from lifting their maiden Indian Premier League (IPL) trophy after a dominant eight-wicket win over Punjab Kings in the second qualifier. As fans gear up for the final on Tuesday, June 3, the city’s police are preparing for a high-energy evening across popular nightlife zones including MG Road, Church Street, and Cubbon Park.

These areas, Bengaluru’s most crowded nightlife hubs, are home to some of the city's busiest restobars, breweries, and cafes, often teeming with patrons even on regular weekends. With the home team reaching the final, authorities expect an unprecedented rush.

DCP Central Shekhar H Tekkannavar told TNM, "We have strict measures in place to manage traffic and prevent any untoward incidents. Additional forces will be deployed to manage crowd movement and vehicle flow, especially around these high-footfall areas.”

According to The Hindu, RCB's advance to the IPL finals has sparked optimism among Bengaluru's hospitality sector, particularly restobars and pubs, which are anticipating a surge in footfall. Despite recent challenges such as rising beer prices, the hospitality industry sees the IPL as a much-needed boon, especially given RCB's strong performance.

The IPL 2025 final will take place at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. This will be RCB’s fourth appearance in an IPL final. They previously finished as runners-up in 2009, 2011, and 2016. PBKS, who made their only previous finals appearance in 2014, are led by Shreyas Iyer, now the first player to captain three different teams to the final.
