Meanwhile, Darshan is gearing up for the release of 'Odeya' on November 1st to coincide with the Kannada Rajotsava Day.

Vakkantham Vamsi, a popular writer in Tollywood, made his directorial debut with the Telugu movie Naa Peru Surya, which had Allu Arjun in the lead role. The film, that released last year, received a lukewarm response among cine buffs following which there was no news about the director’s next.

Several months after the release of Naa Peru Surya, news has emerged that Vakkantham Vamsi is gearing up to wield the director’s baton again. Sources say that he is in talks with Kannada actor Darshan and may soon foray into the Kannada film industry. However, nothing has been finalised yet and we need to wait for an official word from the concerned parties.

Meanwhile, Darshan is gearing up for the release of Odeya on November 1st to coincide with the Kannada Rajotsava Day. Apparently, Odeya will have Darshan in two different roles. Wielding the megaphone for Odeya is MD Sridhar.

His other film in the pipeline is Robert. Darshan had wrapped up the shooting of Robert some time ago and also completed dubbing for the film. Donning the director’s robes for Robert is Tharun Sudhir. On making this film with Darshan, the director told in an interview earlier that has penned the film not as a director but as Darshan’s fan, which means it will have all elements that the star’s fans would love to watch on the silver screens.

When this film was announced, it was revealed that Drashan’s character in it is named Robert but the director put an end to all guesswork when he revealed that the character will have nothing to do with the star’s cameo role in Chowka. According to reports, the film will feature Vinod Prabhakar, son of actor Tiger Prabhakar, in an important role and Tollywood actor Jagapathi Babu.

Recently Indian model turned actor Meera Mithun claimed that she has been removed from Arun Vijay's upcoming film Agni Siragugal directed by Naveen. The actor took to Twitter and alleged that she has been removed from the film.

“Am removed from the movie and all of ya all know who has been roped in now in my place for the movie @agnisirugugal @NaveenFilmmaker @TSivaAmma (Sic)”, she said in an apparent allusion to Akshara Haasan.

Now, the actor has accused Kamal Hassan of being the reason behind her removal from the project. She tweeted saying, "So it's clear now that nepotism is at its peak in Kollywood. The clout of Kamal Haasan ensured I am out of this movie and his own daughter is cast in this movie. Also, (director) Naveen and producer T Siva, your double standards are exposed."

However, director Naveen hit back and claimed that she was never a part of the film and that Akshara was replacing Shalini Pandey as the female lead.

Later during the weekend show, Kamal Hassan probed the issue further. Meera continued to stand by her view and said that she didn’t feel good about the way Cheran had behaved. Later Kamal played a short film of the incident and said that he didn't think Cheran had behaved badly. The other female housemates also supported him.
