Xiaomi has launched the Mi A3, the latest smartphone in its line-up of Android One-powered phone with what it claims is the world’s highest resolution camera setup. It succeeds Mi A2.

Mi A3 features the Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 chipset, a Super AMOLED display, a massive 4030mAh battery, 48MP triple camera setup and an in-screen fingerprint scanner. Like every Mi A series smartphone, Mi A3 is also powered by Google’s Android One project and runs Android 9 Pie out of the box.

Mi A3 features a glass sandwich design with an ergonomic form factor facilitating one-handed usage. The 15.6cm (6.08) Super AMOLED display offers vivid colours, deeper blacks and increased power efficiency enabling an immersive viewing experience. It also comes with an in-screen fingerprint scanner, which Xiaomi claims brings 15% increase in the fingerprint detection area and 30% more accuracy over the previous generation.

Triple Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protects the front, rear and the camera module of Mi A3. The functionality is complemented by the nano-level holographic pattern which creates a dynamic design effect. The Mi A3 also features P2i nano-coating to provide protection against accidental spills.

Mi A3 combines the Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 mobile platform with Android One and is coupled with upto 6GB RAM and 128GB of internal storage. Mi A3 brings a 4030mAh battery with 18W fast charging with a 10W charger in the box.

It runs on the Android 9 Pie operating system out of the box, bringing features like the Google Assistant, Digital Wellbeing and Adaptive Battery. Mi A3’s Android UI ensures snappy and clutter free user experience and comes with two years of guaranteed security updates from Google, and two guaranteed Android OS upgrades.

Mi A3 features Sony’s 48MP IMX586 sensor, coupled with an 8MP ultra-wide and a 2MP depth sensor. The 48MP large half-inch sensor allows maximum details to be captured while retaining the quality of the image. To further enhance the camera experience, Mi A3 brings Xiaomi’s popular Steady Handheld Night Photography mode to the Mi A series for the first time ever.

Mi A3 sports a 32MP front camera which has a Super Pixel size of 1.6μm allowing crisp and detailed selfies even in low light.

Mi A3 will be available in three colour variants: Kind of Grey, Not just Blue and More than White.

The 4GB+64GB variant will be available for Rs 12,999 and the 6GB+128GB variant will be available for Rs 15,999. Mi A3 will be available starting 12pm on August 23 via Mi.com, Amazon and Mi Home stores. It will also go on sale across all offline stores soon.
