Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah was not pleasantly surprised when a battery-operated LED garland found its way around his neck on Tuesday. According to a report in The Hindu, the CM was on an unscheduled visit to his office in the afternoon and had dropped by to pick up some files. A former Congress MLA from the Chikkaballapur district was waiting for him along with a group of his supporters after being tipped off about his arrival. One of his supporters reportedly had a box of sweets along with the garland inside. Siddaramaiah became aware of the security breach only after the garland with flickering LED lights was around his neck. Siddaramaiah immediately removed the garland and reprimanded his security officials for the security breach. The report states that police officers rushed into his office immediately and that the CM left his office minutes after the incident. Read more at: CM taken aback after being garlanded
