Sri Ram Sene leader Pramod Muthalik is back in the news again and this time he is targeting Bollywood actress and former adult-movie star Sunny Leone for her pornographic website. Known for his attack against women and Western culture, the pro-Hindu leader said that that the existence of such websites promoted rapes, kidnapping and murder in the society. Alleging that Leone was having a bad influence on the youth in the country, he demanded that she be deported to her home nation – Canada. “Her (pornographic) videos are more popular than today’s item songs; she is more popular than Narendra Modi and has a larger fan base,” he said. The videos he claimed, were also having an adverse effect on children. Citing an incident, he said, that a family in Dharwad had noticed over a period of one year that their son was into “bad habits” and frequently took “ill”. On investigating, they discovered that the boy regularly browsed Leone’s website and arrived at the conclusion that the content on the site had “led him astray”. He also claims that the parents have filed a case against the actress and the website for “having a bad influence on their son”. Muthalik said he too had submitted a memorandum to the Dharwad-Hubli Police Commissioner to ban the website.
