So what if CSK isn’t playing in the IPL this season. The Nadigar Sangam has come up with their own cricket league, as a fund-raising event for their new building. With Rajnikanth bowling the first ball of the league, this tournament might just give the CSK-deprived fans some respite.  But while Suriya and Karthi fight it out at the pitch, what are the Thala and Thalapathy of tinseltown doing, giving this league a miss?

Here is why some of the bigwigs in the industry aren’t turning up at the stands to cheer on their colleagues.

There is no clue behind where this megastar may have vanished, instead of being seen at the pitch. While some reports state that he is busy with promoting his recent release ‘Theri’, a few other sources say that he is away, holidaying after his recent hit.

People who know Ajith also know that he is not one for spectacles and gallant displays. According to reports that surfaced earlier this month, the star indicated his displeasure at asking the public to pay for the Sangam’s new building. However, some sources have also denied that Ajith ever made this statement. Well, whatever may be the issue, this style icon did not show up for the inaugural event today.

‘STR’, as he is fondly called by his fans, is also in Turkey, shooting the last song sequence for his much-awaited film ‘Accham Yenbadhu Madamaiyada’. Directed by Gautam Vasudev Menon, the film is set to hit screens on May 27th. But STR also does not get along with Vishal and co since he contested against them during the Nadigar Sangam elections.

Apart from namma stars, the event was set to be graced by the presence of Amitabh Bachchan, Mammootty and Chiranjeevi, each the superstar of their industry. However, sources are still not very clear on when they will appear during the event.
