If you are using WhatsApp on your iPhone and share photographs regularly expect a new feature on the messaging app from now on. If you send five or more photographs in one go, WhatsApp will automatically club them together into an album and you can see them displayed as a tile for future viewing.

The same applies for videos also. When you wish to view them just tap them within the message and they will appear as a full screen like a collage and you can pick and view them separately as well.

The other new feature introduced relates to the use of filters while clicking and sending messages through this messaging app, using your iPhones.

There are, in all, five options here; cool, black and white, chrome, film and pop. The way this works is you can click a photo or record a video and then swipe the screen to choose one of these filters to be applied and then send. Incidentally you can use this feature on any photo or video or even a GIF already available on your device and apply the filter before sending it to your friend or other contacts.

The third new announcement in this relates to the reply mode. In this iPhone users on WhatsApp can just swipe a message right and straightaway punch in the response. This is going to be useful while sending replies to particular individuals in a group chat. Just swipe that person’s message and begin typing.

Though these announcements have directly from WhatsApp, one cannot ignore the fact that they have been made only for the iOS devices and there is the WWDC happening right now. These features are expected to be released for Android users as well going ahead.
