It's official. The makers of Game of Thrones have revealed the fate of Jon Snow to millions of fans worldwide, though the finer details are yet to emerge.

The revelation came in the second episode of season six titled 'home.'

If you don't want spoilers, leave now.

Variety reported:

Near the end of the second episode, Davos Seaworth (Liam Cunningham) convinces a reluctant Melisandre (Carice van Houten) to work her magic to resurrect Jon Snow (Kit Harington) — the exact question fans have long been hoping for. “Do you know of any magic that could help bring him back?” he asks her.

While the plot initially suggests that Melisandre failed, as everyone mournfully leaves the room, Jon opens his eyes and gasps for breath.

Claiming that this was a plot development that was long in the making, Vox reported:

It's not entirely clear whether Jon's consciousness in fact went into Ghost in the show. David Benioff doesn't mention it in his Inside the Episode commentary, saying only that "Ghost has a kind of sixth sense when it comes to Jon," letting him know "when Jon's in danger and when he might be coming back." But when everyone left the room and Ghost looked at Jon's body, that was when Jon suddenly woke up.
