After playing the lead in PS Mithran’s psychological thriller Irumbu Thirai that dealt with data security, and later in the sequel of the 2005 hit Sandakozhi, Vishal’s first release for 2019 will be Ayogya. The film that is being directed by Venkat Mohan also stars Raashi Khanna, R Parthiepan and Sonia Aggarwal.

The film’s teaser was released on Wednesday. The teaser begins with Vishal’s voice-over telling us that the person who is the first witness to all injustice happening in the country is Gandhi. The accompanying visual shows a policeman saluting Gandhi's picture.

The teaser then proceeds to introduce us to Parthiepan's character who comes across as a corrupt and vile gang leader.

Vishal, who plays a cop, goes by the name Karna and quite unusually does not appear wearing his uniform in any of the frames in the teaser. The clip offers plenty of stunt scenes. Sonia Aggarwal, too, makes an appearance in the teaser, standing in front of the media.

Ayogya is the Tamil remake of the Telugu blockbuster Temper starring Jr NTR which was helmed by Puri Jagannadh. The project was originally planned with Simbu, but for unknown reasons, it never took off. It may be noted that Temper was recently remade in Hindi as Simmba starring Ranveer Singh, and the film has turned out to be a blockbuster.

The film’s premise is based on a heinous rape and how it changes a corrupt police officer.

The film also stars KS Ravikumar, Pooja Devariya, Yogi Babu, MS Baskar, and Anand Raj in supporting roles.

Ayogya has been bankrolled by Vishal Film Factory in association with Tagore Madhu while the film’s music has been scored by Sam CS. The film’s director is an erstwhile associate of Murugadoss.

Earlier this year, it was announced that the film will release in April 2019.
