The trailer of Vantha Rajavathaan Varuven, Silambarasan's (Simbu or STR) upcoming film, released on Sunday. The video promises an action flick with ample songs, punch dialogues and dance sequences. The movie, which was initially planned to hit the screens for Pongal, will now release worldwide on February 1.

The 2.10 minute-trailer starts with colourful frames of folk dance artistes with heavy makeup and Simbu’s voice in the background. The frame shifts to involve fight scenes in the middle of all the folk festivities. Quickly showing the heroine and a few dance moves by the leading actors, the trailer also shows snide political remarks slipped in between the scenes. The trailer also features Ramya Krishnan, Prabhu and Nasser with sufficient emotional quotient. The action scenes show quite a few SUVs and billhooks in the movie.

Vantha Rajavathaan Varuven is a remake of the 2013-Telugu flick Attarintiki Daredi which had Pawan Kalyan in the lead role. Directed by Sundar C and bankrolled by A Subhashkaran’s Lyca Productions, the movie has Simbu, Catherine Tresa and Megha Akash in the lead roles. The film also stars actors Prabhu, Ramya Krishnan, Nasser, VTV Ganesh, ‘Motta’ Rajendran, Robo Shankar, and Yogi Babu. The teaser of this flick was released in December 2018 and was well received by fans. This has created a big hype for its release.

In an interview to the Silverscreen.com, Sundar C had said that the movie was not just for Simbu fans but for everybody. “The hero is in tune with himself and with the scenario he finds himself in. He is not immature or naive. He is the complete man,” Sundar C was quoted saying.

Simbu was recently embroiled in controversy over a request he'd made to fans about erecting flexes and doing paal abhishekams ahead of the film's release.
