The official teaser of Adithya Varma, the Tamil remake of Arjun Reddy, was released on Sunday. The film marks the debut of actor Vikram’s son Dhruv, who will reprise Vijay Devarakonda’s role from the original. Directed by Girisayya, an associate of Arjun Reddy director Sandeep Vanga, the film promises an action-packed drama revolving around the life of a doctor. 

Going by the one-minute long teaser, it is clear that the new remake looks like a frame-by-frame remake of Arjun Reddy. Dhruv plays the titular character of a young man who has anger management issues. While an all-rounder in sports and academics, he is quick to lose his temper with everyone, including those near and dear to him. 

It may be noted that the Tamil remake which was first shot with ace director Bala was titled Varma. However, it was later scrapped after the makers were unhappy with the final output. Later, the makers decided to reshoot the remake from scratch. They also retained Dhruv and music composer Rothan for the new version of the remake while the rest of the star cast and crew were discarded. Following this, debutant director Girisayya, an associate of  Sandeep Vanga, who directed Arjun Reddy, was roped in to helm the film.
 
Adithya Varma is being bankrolled by E4 Entertainment, producers of popular Malayalam films such as Ezra and Godha. October fame Banita Sandhuis playing the female lead opposite Dhruv and Priya Anand playing an important role. 

Ravi K Chandran is cranking the camera, who will be marking his comeback in Tamil after 7aum Arivu and Radhan, who composed the tunes, originally for Arjun Reddy and Bala's version has been retained as the music director for this version of remake too.

Tollywood flick Arjun Reddy, starring Vijay Devarakonda and Shalini Pandey, was one of the biggest hits in the film industry. Made on a low budget, the film reached the Rs. 50 crore club and its remake rights in different languages were lapped up for a huge price.The Telugu film Arjun Reddy was a cult hit, no doubt. The film’s remake right in different languages sold out like hot cakes and now we hear that it will be remade in Malayalam as well. While in the Hindi version Shahid Kapoor will be essaying the role done by Vijay Devarakonda, in the Tamil version it will be the award winning actor Vikram’s son Dhruv, who will be making his acting debut.
