Composer Anirudh Ravichander is undeniably one of Tamil cinema’s best composers. His work has been appreciated across ages and with his fresh tunes, he instantly strikes a connection with the youngsters, thus earning a very strong fan base.

Among his upcoming projects, one of the most anticipated albums is Ajith’s Vivegam, and two singles from the film – Surviva and Thala Viduthalai – have already been adjudged chartbusters. In an interview to The Hindu, Anirudh has revealed that Vivegam album is dedicated to 25 years of Ajith in cinema.

“Ajith sir is completing 25 years in cinema, and this album is dedicated to that milestone. While ‘Surviva’ is Hiphop-EDM, ‘Thalai Viduthalai’ is death metal. The next single will be in the Carnatic space. We are exploring as many genres as we can, and there will be seven tracks in all, including one theme. I’ve started the re-recording work and I’m very excited about the film. It’s a new space for all of us. Ajith sir has really rocked it with his efforts. The first day will be a never-before-seen different feeling in theatres,” he said.

This year, he is also looking forward to his Telugu debut with upcoming Pawan Kalyan film with Trivikram. Talking about foraying into Telugu filmdom, he said, “I’m curious to know how my music will work there. It’ll be a new sound for Telugu, but it will also be ‘desi’ and mainstream. Trivikram is a chilled-out director, and we’ve struck a good rapport. He lets me make the song in Tamil. I was supposed to work in his previous film too, but I couldn’t do it. I committed to this Pawan Kalyan film at that time itself. We also have plans to make the star sing. If it works with the audience, I’ll try to do one Telugu film each year.”
