The Thupparivaalan team is currently stationed at the Pichavaram forest area in Chidambaram where some important action sequences are being canned. During the shooting of an action block in the forest area, actor Vishal and Vinay Rai met with a freak accident due to which they sustained injuries. While Vishal had a knee injury, Vinay Rai is nursing a shoulder injury. According to sources close to the film unit, both the actors returned to the shoot within a few hours after first aid was administered.

Thupparivaalan, directed by Mysskin, is a detective fantasy thriller that has a bevy of stars in the cast including Vishal, Prasanna, Vinay Rai, Simran, Devayani, Anu Emmanuel, Andrea Jeremiah, John Vijay and K. Bhagyaraj. Arrol Corelli, who has worked in films such Pisasu, Inayathalam and Pasanga 2, is composing music for this film with Karthik Venkatraman cranking the camera. The film is bankrolled by Vishal under his banner Vishal Film Factory along with S Nanthagopal’s Madras Enterprises. Made on a budget of Rs. 50 crores, the film is scheduled to release later this month.

The teaser of the film that was released on July 19 has managed to garner the attention of film buffs. Further, this is the first time Vishal is teaming up with Mysskin and the genre itself has raised expectation levels. In the film, Vishal plays a detective with Prasanna as his assistant. Vishal will be making his debut in the Malayalam film industry with the Mohanlal starrer Villain and has Irumbu Thirai lined up for release.

It may be mentioned that Vishal will begin shooting for his long-pending project Sandakozhi 2 after he is done with Thupparivaalan. The film will be directed by N Lingusamy.
