Mysskin is busy wrapping Vishal-starrer Thupparivaalan, a crime thriller that also stars Prasanna, Anu Emmanuel and veteran filmmaker Bhagyaraj in important roles.
The film was earlier planned as a Tamil New Year release on April 14 but couldn't make it to the screens. Now the makers have officially confirmed that the film will hit the screens on August 11, 2017, for the Independence Day holiday weekend.
Tipped to be an edge-of-the-seat thriller, the project will be predominantly shot at night, a style that’s synonymous with most of Mysskin’s films this far. Vishal will be seen playing a suave detective and will reportedly beef up for the role. Unlike Vishal’s regular commercial outings, this project is believed to be his first outing in a long time sans any commercial elements. Anu Immanuel makes her Kollywood debut playing the female lead and the ensemble star cast includes Vinay Rai, Prasanna and Andrea Jeremiah. K Bhagyaraj plays the lead antagonist for the first time.
Prasanna, who was last seen in Mysskin’s Anjaathe, is expected to play Vishal’s partner and it is being rumoured that they will be portrayed as the local version of Sherlock and Watson pair. Arrol Corelli has been roped in to compose the tunes.
