Actor Vijay Sethupathi is on an incredibly successful run. In 2016, he had no less than six films that set the cash registers ringing and got many critics to take notice too. And in 2017, going by the number of films he has lined up, the actor might just manage to outdo his record for the maximum number of releases in a year.

The list of films he has lined up for 2017 includes KV Anand’s “Kavan”, “Vikram-Vedha”, “96”, “Vada Chennai”, “Mellisai”, a project with Thiagarajan Kumararaja and a film with Paneer Selvam. And now, he has also signed another project with “Kaashmora” director Gokul, with whom he had previously worked in “Idharkuthane Aasaipattai Balakumara”.

The project is a fresh story, and will not be a sequel to their last film. Talking to Deccan Chronicle, director Gokul said that the script is an action comedy, and he hopes to wrap it up as quickly as possible. “In six years, I have only done three movies and I want to speed up the process. Kaashmora took a long time, but it gave me the experience of a lifetime.”

Currently busy shooting for Thiagarajan Kumararaja’s project, Vijay Sethupathi is believed to be playing a transgender person in the film. In “Vikram-Vedha”, he’s playing a gangster, and has an array of interesting characters lined up for upcoming films.
