If the industry grapevine is anything to go by, ace filmmaker Mani Ratnam is pulling off a casting coup by roping in Arvind Swami, Vijay Sethupathi, Fahadh Faasil and Dulquer Salmaan for his next bilingual multi-starrer project, rumoured to go on the floors from October this year.
Apparently, Fahadh Faasil and Arvind Swami are almost finalised but the problem is with Vijay Sethupathi who has no dates till April 2018 as he is busy with multiple projects which he signed long back. Dulquer, on the other hand, is busy with a couple of projects.
“It’s true Mani sir is doing a multi-starrer project next but it’s not yet known if the film will star four heroes. He has already approached Fahadh, who is keen to collaborate but there is still no confirmation from Vijay Sethupathi as he has no dates. Mani sir wants to start shooting from October but it looks impossible for Vijay to allot dates. Dulquer has two projects in his kitty and he has also allocated the rest of the year for them. He has to find dates if he really wants to be part of this project,” a source said.
Not very long ago, there were reports that Madhavan and Fahadh would team up with the Kadal filmmaker. Looks like Madhavan is out of the picture and was never even considered in the first place. Also, Mani Ratnam is trying his hands at an action film this time. AR Rahman and lensman Santosh Sivan are already confirmed for this yet-untitled project, to be made in Tamil and Malayalam.
