Popular radio jockey turned actor RJ Balaji, who has so far played second fiddle to heroes, is all set to play the lead in upcoming Tamil political satire LKG, being directed by debutant Prabhu.

He also doubles up as story and screenplay writer for the project, which is on the verge of completion. Recently, the makers roped in Vignesh Shivn to shoot a special song which was completely shot in New Delhi. If the industry grapevine is anything to go by, this track will be used for promotional purpose.

Apparently, the makers obtained special permission to shoot the song in places like the Parliament, Rajpath road, Janpath road, and the India Gate. Balaji took to Twitter to thank Vignesh for agreeing to direct the song.

He wrote: “The man who directed the mighty Surya sir, Simbu, Vijay Sethupathi and Sivakarthikeyan in the future has written and directed a song in LKG. Thank you Vignesh Shivn for doing what you did for our friendship. Thank you for all the love, positivity and creativity. Means a lot.”

The film also stars Priya Anand as the leading lady. When the project was announced earlier this year, rumours made the rounds that LKG is the remake of Danish Sait starrer Kannada film Humble Politician Nograj

It’s worth mentioning that both Danish and Balaji are well-known radio jockeys who have strongly voiced their opinions about the political climate in their respective states. However, Balaji went on to clarify that the film isn’t a remake of any project and that it’s a satire on the current state of politics and politicians in Tamil Nadu.
