It's a harsh world out there for children who are still learning about their bodies and their identities in society. It doesn't help that children are expected to fit into set gender roles even before they begin their road to self-discovery.
Maybe talking about gender and sex in schools could help.
It could just groom more children with an understanding, compassionate and healthy attitude towards sex, love and gender.
