Mammootty’s next will be a campus thriller that will have Ajai Vasudevan wielding the megaphone. Incidentally, the film has a huge star cast that includes Unni Mukundan, Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, Mahima Nambiar and Poonam Bajwa in important roles. According to sources, Varalaxmi Sarathkumar and Unni Mukundan will be playing police officers in the flick. And it has been reported that mega star Mammootty will be seen as a college lecturer in the movie.

Udayakrishna of Pulimurugan fame, who has worked on the script of this yet to be titled film has revealed more detials about Varalaxmi’s role in the movie. Speaking to the Times of India, he's said, “Varalaxmi plays an IPS officer named Bhavani Durga, who is one of the female leads. Poonam Bajwa is a college lecturer in the film.” On the plot of the film, he said, “The college has an extremely hostile environment with group wars a routine affair. The students are often booked by the cops for crimes. So, the core of the film is the hostility between the police and the youth.”

Interestingly, Mammootty, who plays the college lecturer Edward Livingstone, is a character with a criminal background. He is extremely strict with the students and put them in place. How he changes the situation in the college forms the crux of the story.

The shooting of this untitled film is currently on at the Fatima Mata National College in Kollam and is progressing at a brisk pace. Apart from well known stars like Mammootty, Varalaxmi, Unni Mukundan and Poonam Bajwa, the film also stars Gokul Suresh, Maqbool Salmaan and John Kaippallil. Interestingly, Varalaxmi made her debut in Mollywood with the Mammootty starrer Kasaba last year and it did well at the box office.
