A 35-year-old woman and her partner were stabbed to death in the early hours of Sunday in Karnataka’s Mandya district.

As four unknown assailants knocked on Sharavathi’s door in Malavalli taluk, they are reported to have stabbed her and slit her throat. Though Sharavathi’s 28-year-old partner Satish rushed to the door to help her, the assailants attacked and stabbed him to death.

Sharavathi’s 12-year-old son, however, bore witness to the horrifying double murders at his own house.

Malavalli police told The Times of India that Sharavathi’s son, who was in utter shock for a few minutes, managed to run out of the house and alerted the neighbours.

The neighbours rushed to the house, only to find Sharavathi and Satish lying in a pool of blood.

The police suspect the involvement of Sharavathi’s husband Siddegowda in the murders. Siddegowda has reportedly been in prison for the past eight years after being convicted for murder. The police believe that Siddegowda, who might have come to know about his wife’s alleged relationship with Satish, planned the twin murder.
