The United Nations refugee agency – United National High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) has released an interactive map which shows the aftermath of the two earthquakes that struck Nepal on April 25 and May 12 respectively.

According to the data released on the website, 9,541 people have died in the country and 17, 838 people have been injured as on May 15 from the earthquakes that were of 7.8 and 7.3 magnitude.(source: UNRCO)

The map categories the districts based on the magnitude, the number of people killed and those injured.

Sindhupalchok witnessed the highest number of deaths with 3,369 being reported dead as a result of the two quakes and the aftershocks that have jolted the earthquake-prone nation. The capital of the country, Kathmandu has reported that 4,634 have been injured.

The data has been made available by Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), United Nations Disaster Assessment and Coordination (UNDAC), United Nations Residents Coordination’s Office (UNRCO, Nepal), Government of Nepal, Mapbox.
