Private cab aggregators Uber and Ola announced on Monday that they are temporarily suspending suspended surge pricing in Delhi.

This came after the Delhi government warned of strict action against app-based taxi services over surge pricing during rush hours especially during the Odd-Even scheme.

"Strict action, including permit cancellation and impounding of vehicles, will be taken against app-based taxis which charge fares more than government-prescribed rates (sic)," Kejriwal said in a tweet earlier on Monday.

Mint on Saturday reported how 30 Uber and Ola cabs were seized by police in Bengaluru for allegedly overcharging customers.
